Mercedes Benz unveiled the new B-class Fuel-cell model in Germany

 Mercedes Benz. It unveiled the new B-class Fuel-cell model in Germany recently. The car, which is a zero emission car, is the first model in the series of Hydrogen fuel cell cars from Mercedes.
Its performance is quite comparable to a 2.0-litre petrol car and is fully suited for everyday driving. The zero-emission drive system consumes the equivalent of 3.3 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres in the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle)
The new model does not compromise on boot space or leg room either. It is fully equipped with all the safety features and comfort as other fossil fuel models. Apart from the luxuries, the new model has been designed such that the customer does not have to compromise on driving experience due to its electric motor which delivers peak performance of 100 kW and a maximum torque of 290 Nm.

The car has an extremely efficient and high performance fuel system where gaseous hydrogen reacts with atmospheric oxygen at 700 bar to generate a current for the electric motor. The car even has cold-start capability.

The car tuning engineers at Manhart Racing have revealed a powerful version of the BMW Z4 with a 5.0-liter V10 engine producing 550 horsepower.

BMW Z4 M powered by the 5.0-liter V10 engine from the BMW M5. This means that the Manhart BMW Z4 M V10 develops 550 hp rather than the standard 343 hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Also featured are a catalytic converter and a modified DME electronic control unit. The Manhart BMW Z4 M V10 has been fitted with an M5 E60 6 gear manual transmission, a Fichtel & Sachs clutch and an M5 E60 differential. BMW released today the official details and photos of the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept, a “new revolutionary concept car with BMW EfficientDynamics technology.

the new concept uses a a three-cylinder turbodiesel and two electric motors and the total output is 262 kW/356 hp, maximum torque 800 Newton-metres/590 lb-ft. All-wheel drive featuring an electric motor on both the front and rear axle. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is made in just 4.8 seconds while the top speed achieved is limited at 250 km/h (155 mph). Fuel consumption is impressive: 3.76 litres/100 km (equal to 75.1 mph imp), CO2 emissions 99 grams/kilometre. As a plug-in hybrid, BMW Vision EfficientDynamics is able to cover the entire fuel consumption drive cycle under electric power alone. Taking the sources of energy used for generating the electric power consumed into account (EU electricity mix), this reduces the CO2 emission rating to just 50 grams per kilometre. Electric power is generated without the slightest increase in fuel consumption through a particularly efficient concept of Brake Energy Regeneration. Energy is stored in 98 lithium polymer cells. The car is able to cover a distance of approximately 50 km/31 miles in the electric mode alone. The impressive performances are also available due to the drag coefficient optimised to just 0.22.

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic going to be released in India

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic's smaller successor, the 5530 XpressMusic, is all set to make its India landing in the not too distant future. The phone, which is set for a global launch by month end, might just see a simultaneous launch in India. The phone can be termed a scaled down, better looking version of the 5800 XpressMusic.
The feature set is identical to the 5800 XpressMusic. However, some differences include the smaller screen and the slightly updated software. Unlike the 3.2-inch screen of the 5800 XpressMusic, this one is slightly smaller at just 2.9 inches. The resolution, however, remains the same at 360 x 640 pixels. Internal memory too has been reduced for 80MB to 70MB. The RAM on both phones remains the same at 128MB SD RAM. The reduced size does not really seem to help the 5530 shed weight which at 107 grams is negligibly lighter than the 5800 which tips the scales at 109 grams. Perhaps the main difference between the two is the non availability of 3G support in the 5530.

The Brookstone Surround Sound Earbuds offer a relatively basic design with two exceptions: a small, oblong mic built into the cable and dual 3.5mm plugs at the end. In fact, one of the plugs (colored pink) is specifically for a mic jack on your computer. The other one--colored green and labeled "SPK"--is for headphone ports. Unfortunately, from ear to plugs, the cable is only about 42-inches long, which made it impossible for me to sit up at my desk while having the plugs connected to the computer. Like many users, I keep my computer box on the ground, so if your system is up on your desk--or an all in one, like the iMac--you might not have a problem. Still, considering the earbuds are marketed for use with VoIP, I'm surprised the cable isn't adequately long. At least it's an easy fix: just pick up a headphone extender.

The earpieces of the Brookstone Surround Sound Earbuds are adequately comfortable. The earbuds come with a rubber fitting that helps them fit securely inside the ear; a couple standard foam covers are also included for added comfort. Integrated ear loops aim to keep the earbuds in place even during activity, but they are not adjustable and so might not work that well for those with non-average size ears. However, thanks to a lightweight design, the Surround Sound Earbuds will probably stay on most users just fine.

Nokia Corp., the world's largest maker of cell phones, said Monday that it will start making a small, light laptop, similar to ones PC manufacturers are already selling through wireless carriers around the world.

The Finnish company says the Nokia Booklet 3G will run Microsoft Corp.'s Windows software, have a 10-inch screen and weigh 2.8 pounds. That puts it squarely in the "netbook" category pioneered by Taiwanese manufacturers like AsusTek Computer Inc.
Nokia said it would reveal the price and launch date of the PC on Sept. 2. Most netbooks sell for less than $500.
Nokia said its PC would be "satisfying a need" among wireless carriers. AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless have started selling netbooks in their stores, subsidizing the purchase for customers who sign up for wireless broadband plans. Sprint Nextel Corp. has started subsidizing netbooks sold at Best Buy. In Europe, many carriers started selling netbooks last year.
Unlike most netbooks, Nokia's Booklet will have a built-in GPS navigation chip coupled to Nokia's Ovi Maps software, and an aluminum cover to contrast with the usual plastic.
Nokia has previously tried to expand its portfolio beyond cell phones, making a "tablet" computer that runs non-Windows software.

Consumers who buy a qualifying Mac between June 8 and Dec. 26 can purchase the Snow Leopard upgrade for $9.95. Users must request an upgrade within 90 days of purchase or Dec. 26, whichever comes first.
Snow Leopard's features include a more responsive Finder, mail that uploads messages faster, QuickTime X with a redesigned player and a more crash-resistent Safari browser.
Apple said Snow Leopard is half the size of the previous version, freeing up to 7 gigabytes of drive space when installed. It requires a minimum of 1 gigabyte of RAM and runs on Macs using an Intel processor.
